One thing I have learned is that when I feel like I want to give up and have nothing left in me, I always have more.  This benefits me because I know that anything I want to achieve in life is obtainable because when I get stuck or down, I know how to refocus and push onward until I have achieved my goal.

Diving Taught Me:

Being on the University of Tennessee Swimming and Diving team has helped me learn a lot of how to be a good teammate. It seems that being a good teammate would be a simple task to accomplish, but for me it was actually a difficult lesson to learn. I believed that as long as I was working hard and doing my best in and out of the pool then I was a being a good teammate. However, I’ve learned that a good teammate does much more than score points for the team. A good teammate believes in and is able to see potential in each one of his team members, pushes his teammates to conform into the potential he envisions, and most importantly cares for his teammates’ life in relation to their emotional, spiritual, physical, and mental aspects. It’s not until team members can lay down their egos and serve one another that they can truly become a team. That’s what I’ve learned in my tenure here with Tennessee Swimming and Diving.
